Taiisha Swinton-Buck

Born and raised in Mount Vernon and Brooklyn, New York, Dr. Taiisha Swinton-Buck pursued her passion for English-Secondary Education at Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, PA. She then earned her Masters in Educational Leadership from Drexel University in 2013. Dr. Swinton-Buck has been an educator for 13-years. With four-years of principal experience, three-years of experience as an assistant principal in Newark, NJ, and six-years of experience as a highly effective English lead teacher, Dr. Swinton-Buck is committed to supporting teachers in the work to expand educational opportunities for all students. While she worked in Newark, NJ for over nine-years in large comprehensive high schools with diverse populations, including English Language Learners and Special Education students, Dr. Swinton-Buck gained a tremendous amount of technology integration and instructional leadership expertise. As a school leader, she has built a positive climate and culture through targeted professional development and full integration of social-emotional learning for staff and students. In her transition to Digital Harbor High School, Dr. Swinton-Buck built strong community partnerships to better support the Digital Harbor school community's needs. She was recently promoted to the Instructional Leadership Executive Director for Baltimore City Public Schools.
